ROSE CAFÉ, Venice, CA

Updated: Jun 13, 2018

Rose Cafe is an iconic, super dog-friendly restaurant in the heart of Venice, that has been serving customers since 1979.

This place really has everything – a bakery, beer garden, an oyster bar, a market, and a 40-foot cocktail bar!

With two separate outdoor areas open year-round (it is always sunny in Southern California after all), there is plenty of dog friendly space at Rose Café. It also has one of our favorite patios in this part of LA! Their menu is huge, so you are definitely going to find something for yourself here, regardless of your dietary needs. We particularly love their brunch dishes, and anything from their raw seafood bar.

Now about the WINE!

Rose Café’s wine director Nathaniel Muñoz did a great job representing …pretty much the entire globe on the wine menu. Their wines by the glass are from Spain, Italy, New Zealand, France, Croatia, Portugal, Greece and Hungary. We wanted to go back to our Balkan roots, so we tried the Istrian #Teran (Kabola). It is a perfect mid-afternoon wine for a warm day, and would pair well with risotto, or a light pasta dish. If you’re in Venice with your #winepooch, don’t skip Rose Café!
