FIG Santa Monica has one of the best patios AND one of the best happy hours in LA. Steps away from the beach and Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, FIG is loved by locals and visitors alike. It’s located inside the iconic Fairmont Miramar hotel that has been a celebrity favorite since the 1920s.
The food is a blend of Mediterranean (try their bread balloon with delicious spreads), and healthy Californian cuisine. But what you should really not miss is their happy hour, called FIG AT FIVE.
Between 5 and 6pm EVERY evening, Fig offers 50% off most of the menu!
Last time we were there for happy hour, the entire wine-by-the-glass menu was half off, so we indulged in a fresh, dry rosé from Provence, Summer Water, and two of their craft cocktails. As yummy as their wines and cocktails are, you would be missing out if you didn't try the food at Fig! If you are a fan of tentacles, their octopus is very tender, and has just the right amount of spice. Our other seafood favorite are scallops, that are probably big enough to share. The kale salad is heavenly too, and (I never thought I would say that) so is their butternut squash pizza, as funny as the combination sounds!

Entrance to Fig is through the dog friendly Fairmont Miramar Hotel (101 Wilshire Blvd), either from Ocean Avenue or from 2nd Street.
They accept reservations for happy hour, which is great, as the patio only has a few tables.
If you’re lucky, the manager will bring you extra special dog-treats. Your pooch will certainly get fresh water, though, so you can both relax, eat, drink and be marry long after the happy hour is over.
